About

Luthier specialising in making bespoke hand made Selmer style guitars

I began using saws and other tools since an early age around the house and in my dad’s workshop and I’ve been playing guitar on and off since my early teens. When I was 17 I started to study classical guitar making at the London Guildhall University – London collage of furniture. Later I studied ethnomusicology degree at SOAS University London, then I went on to study steel string guitar making with master guitar maker Sergei de Jonge in Chelsea, Canada.

the highest quality and aged woods

I make steel string and classical guitars and other instruments, but I began to specialise in making Selmer Maccaferri style guitars after an increasingly large amount of commissions which led me to a deeper understanding of the nuances of these types of guitars used for playing gypsy jazz – jazz manouche.

My emphasis in guitar building is on using the highest quality aged woods, building guitars with exceptional tonal qualities, loud and responsive instruments for professional musicians who gig regularly or the musician who has a love for tone and high end sound quality.

In search for the best guitar

My inspiration comes from the search for the best guitar I could own and from the music of Django Reinhardt and other great guitarists in the tradition and in world music.

“In short, guitar after guitar, Jerome consistently produces some of the finest, incredible instruments available.”
